STAY IN THE MOMENT
The expression “stay in the moment” is used today to remind people to enjoy the day, get the most out of each moment of time. Nowhere is this more important than the Recall Edgardo movement in the Westside. A lot of work has been done, and there is much more ahead in this uphill battle to have our voices heard against the powers that be at City Hall and environs.
But I, for one, cannot help but think towards the future, one of kindness and grace that the Westside residents have always exhibited towards others. With this in mind, I can’t help but think of the new opportunities ahead for Joel Edgardo after he takes his walk of shame out of City Hall. Some possible career paths for him:
1) Continuing to learn how to play the piano (as he did at the victory celebration for Yes on K) and learn how to play and sing “I left my heart in San Francisco.” I would buy that CD.
2) Get a job with SFMTA has many of the bike coalition members have so that he can continue to sell out the working-class mode of transportation.
3) Work for SF Park and Rec Department figuring out more ways to project the façade of inclusiveness of the resident of the Westside.
4) He could get a job with one of the big money tech companies that have contributed heavily to his campaign and subsequent betrayal of the Westside voters. They are always looking for qualified individuals lacking in moral values and integrity.
5) Become the Face of a new YIMBY movement espousing the displacement of middle-class working residents in favor of tech persons working from home. After all, what do the working class really contribute to our society compared with the tech workers and Elites?
Sincerely,
Martin Murphy
